Privacy policy

Last updated: 2026-08-29

Keep It Lit Software Inc. (“we”) makes ShiftMayt, a crew scheduling and time-tracking tool for small trades businesses. This policy explains what ShiftMayt records about you, why, and what you can do about it. It is written to be read, not to be survivable in a dispute.

Who holds your information

If you use ShiftMayt, it is almost certainly because your employer signed up. They decide what forms you fill in, what documents you have to acknowledge, and how long they keep the record of the hours you worked. We hold that information on their behalf. Where the law distinguishes a controller from a processor, your employer is the controller of your work records and we are the processor.

That has a practical consequence worth stating plainly: we cannot delete your hours at your request, because they are your employer’s payroll record. See “Deleting your account” below.

What we record

What we do not record

We do not record your location. ShiftMayt has no location feature, asks for no location permission, and has nowhere to put a coordinate. This is a property of how the software is built, not a promise about how we behave.

We also do not collect your phone number, date of birth, government identification number, home address, contacts, calendar, or health information. There is no advertising identifier, no analytics SDK and no advertising SDK in the app.

The app asks for two permissions — camera and photo library — and asks for both only so a form can carry a photo. Declining them leaves everything else working.

Who else sees it

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with advertisers.

Our servers are in Canada.

How long we keep it

Your work records are kept for as long as your employer needs them, which for payroll records is a period set by law rather than by us.

Deleting your account

You can delete your ShiftMayt account without installing the app.

Deleting removes your ability to sign in and clears your personal details. It does not erase the hours you worked. Those are your employer’s payroll record and they have a legal obligation to retain them; after your deletion they no longer carry your contact details.

If you want your employer to remove more than that, you have to ask them, because it is their record — and depending on where you live, you may have a legal right to require it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask for a copy of what we hold, to correct it, to have it deleted, or to complain to a regulator. In Canada that regulator is the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. Ask us at hello@shiftmayt.com and we will answer, or tell you that the request belongs with your employer and why.

Children

ShiftMayt is a workplace tool and is not directed at children.

Changes

If we change this policy we will change the date at the top and, if the change matters, say so in the app rather than only here.
